A golden spirit capturing the authentic taste of the Caribbean. This award-winning lightly aged rum offers a sun-laden promise of long cool cocktail satisfaction. Mix with fresh fruit juice or with other spirits to bring excitement to the party every time. Light, dry and very mellow on the palate, when savoured as a straight drink, with or without ice, its warm inner heart lifts the spirits.

This is a dark rum (and a fairly dusky one at that. Aged up to eight years, it’s got some coffee, cinnamon, and cloves on the nose — along with some raisin notes. Quite savory on the tongue — those bitching about Exclusiva being too sweet can check this out — the coffee notes filter down to dusky charcoal, barrel char, some raisin, and a bit of dark chocolate. Sugar is almost an afterthought here. If you like your rum chewy and filtered through the dank haze of wood, this is your jam. For me though, it’s a bit one-note. 80 proof

El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including double wooden pot stills and are aged in bourbon oak casks.Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country’s last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name “”El Dorado”” references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country’s Rupununi region.
