For the production of Curado, a blanco tequila from the highlands of Jalisco is used as a base, then the liquid is infused with pieces of cooked agave. Initially, only blue agave from the state of Jalisco is used for the infusions, but the project soon evolved to include other agave varieties from other regions of Mexico.

Curado wants to build bridges, not walls.

Curado’s current expressions are: Blue Weber from Arandas, Espadín from Oaxaca and Cupreata from Michoacán. They deliberately took an anthropological approach in their search for knowledge, connecting with – and learning from – people who have generations of wisdom and experience. Each agave variety is cooked according to the technique of that region and then brought to Jalisco. There they are infused with the finest 100% blue agave tequila from the Highlands of Jalisco region. The ratio of agave to tequila varies in each expression, depending on the content-type of agave obtained.

This tequila is made only from the Cupreata agave.

Tasting notes:

Color: Gold.

Nose: Spicy, pepper, chili.

Taste: Complex, slightly acidic, chili, white pepper.

Finish: Long lasting, spicy.

Don Julio 1942 Añejo Tequila is handcrafted in tribute to the year that Don Julio González began his tequila-making journey. Warm oak, vanilla and roasted agave flavors lead into a lingering oak and rich vanilla finish for a luxurious tequila recognized by connoisseurs around the globe. Patrón Añejo is handcrafted from the finest 100% Weber Blue Agave and is carefully distilled in small batches at the Hacienda Patrón distillery in Jalisco, Mexico. It's then aged in a combination of French oak, Hungarian oak and used American whiskey barrels.
