Matured for 12 years, this is the definitive house style of Old Pulteney single malt Scotch whisky – the maritime malt. This single malt marries together the distinctive salty flavours of the sea with the influence of American oak, to bring sweetness into play, and create our classic expression. This sparkling gold whisky is a perfect place to start your Old Pulteney journey, with a flavour which is welcoming and effortless.

Tasting Notes

Rich and vibrant house style of Old Pulteney. A distinctive salty top note serves as a vibrant reminder of its home on the Caithness coast, Soft citrus paired with dark caramel sweetness and creamy vanilla undertones. Firm bodied and smooth. Sweet notes of honey and cream develop into ripe, fruity overtones and fresh spice. Lively and faintly salty on the long lasting finish.

The Macallan treated this 18 Year Old to not just one, but two cask content-types for its maturation, released as part of the Double Cask series! Oloroso sherry was used to season a combination of both American and European oak casks, with the former imparting vanilla nuances while the latter brings that hallmark Macallan spice. Another fantastic sherried single malt from the Speyside distillery!
